High Performance Affiliate Marketing Review
Can you really quit your day job?
Maybe not, but the book High Performance Affiliate Marketing, by Jeremy Palmer is a great beginners guide to the world of Affiliate Marketing and PPC advertising and will help you make that goal a reality. (For more advanced and controversial techniques, I recommend the Adwords Black Book).
High Performance Affiliate Marketing covers everything from what is affiliate marketing, finding products to market, keyword selection, setting up a web site, page design, search engine optimization (seo) techniques and setting up campaigns on the various PPC systems.
Who is Jeremy Palmer?
He is what is known as a Super Affiliate. He earns over $1,000,000 a year, yes I said ONE MILLION DOLLARS! He wrote the book because he wants to help others succeed. And since the PPC market continously changes, Jeremy updates his book with the latest information. From avoiding the "Google Slap" to using the newest PPC systems. In between updates, Jeremy is active on the private forum that is set up for purchasers of the book.
The most important advice the book gives is in keyword selection.
The object isn't to have the most keywords you can, so that you can get the most clicks on your ads; it's really to find the best converting keywords. The keywords people use when they are ready to buy. Why should you spend your money helping people to browse or to comparison shop? You shouldn't and Jeremy goes in-depth on how to find the correct keyword phrases that buyers use.
The second best section of the book is on product selection.
It is quite comprehensive and goes into great detail on finding products to market. From researching the markets to find a type of product, measuring demand, checking on the competition, finding affiliate programs, and how to locate the best converting merchants. That's the key. You may have found the best product ever to sell, but if the merchant doesn't convert, they are useless. I ran into a perfect example. I was promoting two merchants with similar product lines. One would convert one out of every three visitors to a sale. I sent almost 700 people to the other and only had five sales. So remember, it's more than the product, it's also the web site.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to get started in affiliate marketing, either through PPC advertising or by setting up web sites and looking for natural search engine traffic.
